Day Twenty

Day Twenty was all about teamwork and pushing through the heat! While waiting for a round of mud to dry on the drywall, we turned our focus to the fence. With over 1,200 pickets to install and our friend Eric tied up for the morning, Brian started the work on his own. Seeing this, I jumped in to help, and we worked straight through the morning and into the early afternoon.

It was a scorching summer day in the South, and by the end of it, my shoulders were aching, I had a solid blister from the nail gun trigger, and a farmer's tan. But despite the sweat, it was actually a blast, especially using the nail gun! Our daughter even stopped by to help, moving pickets and trying out the nail gun herself.

When Eric finally arrived, it was a relief. He and Brian quickly found their rhythm, and the three of us managed to finish about half of the fence. Now, it's a race against time to complete the job before the tropical storm hits in a few days!
