Day Eight

On Day Eight, the tree trimmers continued their amazing work. This home has had zero landscaping maintenance for longer than I can remember. While the grass would be cut to avoid fines, there was no pruning of trees or bushes, no prevention of weeds, and no control over overgrowth. Before we replace the roof, Brian was beyond excited to have the property cleared out and some serious tree work completed.

We found a fantastic tree vendor (Chads Tree Service) who went above and beyond in every aspect of the job. In total, we had 8 nuisance pine trees removed. These trees were either dead or way too close to the home for our comfort level. We also wanted to minimize pine needles falling on the new roof. Additionally, the crew limbed up and lifted about a dozen other trees, and the transformation was impressive!

While the tree company worked their magic, we continued our efforts inside. We filled up another dumpster as Brian and two others kept pushing forward with the demo. The progress inside the house is really starting to show, and it feels great to see so much getting done.

And yes, the pool continues to get some love and attention. It’s getting closer and closer to being ready for swimming, and we can’t wait to dive in!

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this renovation journey.
