When our friend Andrew Brooks invited us to be part of the relaunch of Jones Creek Golf Course, he shared a message that stuck with me from our very first meeting: he wanted to create a golf course where everyone—regardless of age, background, or skill level—could feel like they belonged. With a mission rooted in inclusivity and the motto “Golf Fore All,” I knew my design approach needed to reflect that same spirit.
I wanted the space to feel less like a traditional, buttoned-up golf clubhouse and more like a warm, inviting home. That meant designing with intention—choosing light, airy tones, layering in vibrant accent colors, and mixing textures to bring warmth and approachability to every corner.
The Lounge Area

We began by creating a small lounge area that would serve as an anchor to the clubhouse. Since the space would evolve in phase two of the project, flexibility was key—I needed pieces that worked for both now and the future floor plan.
On a budget and with durability top of mind, I selected a low-profile faux marble coffee table that instantly became one of my favorite pieces. It’s functional, beautiful, and grounded the space. For seating, I opted for a corduroy slipcover sofa in a rich terracotta-orange shade—earthy and bold, yet welcoming. Two accent chairs in faux leather added texture and practicality, with the bonus of being easy to clean (because yes, drinks will spill).
One of my proudest design moments was incorporating work from local artist Keller Jones, based in Augusta, GA. Her prints not only complemented the color palette and mood of the space, but they added a personal and regional touch that makes the clubhouse feel even more connected to the community. Her art is available for purchase inside the clubhouse, and I’m thrilled to support such a talented local creative.

The Pro Shop Area

Designing the pro shop came with its own set of challenges—primarily limited floor space until we reach phase two of renovations. My goal was to maximize every square inch without sacrificing function or style.
I chose a bench with built-in storage, offering a place for guests to try on shoes while also housing folded polos and golf shirts underneath. A light-toned slat wall was added to showcase merchandise—clean, modern, and perfectly aligned with our bright, welcoming aesthetic. And when I found a reception desk that fit the dimensions of the space just right, it felt like a small victory. It anchors the front of the shop and sets the tone for the overall experience.
Designing the clubhouse for Jones Creek has been a blast. To take Andrew’s vision and translate it into a physical space that feels open, inclusive, and elevated—it’s exactly the kind of work I dreamed of doing when we first began the renovation journey.
Stay tuned as we move into phase two of the project, where the vision will continue to grow.
